Writing an “about” page for The Knighton Experiment is generally an exercise in futility. In part, that’s because it’s a great many things and yet only one thing at the same time.

The one thing is a simple question: Can a middle-aged, relatively uncouth, slobbish screw-up* become a true gentleman?

We think so, so one man is experimenting on himself to become just that.

In order to do that, though, he must overcome a great many things such as ADHD, societal inertia, income limitations, as well as many things currently unidentified. As such, those become smaller efforts contributing to the overall whole.

*While the term “screw-up” can be described as negative self-talk, the truth is that the guy who runs this site, while having accomplished some cool stuff in his life, has also been described by others as something of a screw-up. While he wouldn’t use the term to describe himself, the truth is that he’s messed a lot of stuff up in the past, and addressing that is part of this effort.
