The purpose of experimentation is basically to see what works and what doesn’t. Moreover, we perform true experiments many times to make sure that we get consistent results.

When people are involved, those experiments are performed with as many people as possible so as to remove the possibility of individual quirks screwing with the results.

For what I do, though, that’s not really possible. I have a sample size of one, so when I talk about the results of an experiment, I ask you to bear that in mind.

And today is the day to discuss the results of one of mine.
