Experiment Two: Mind-Altering Substances
Yes, I chose a provocative title here, but it’s also a technically correct one after a fashion.
Much of my effort with the first experiment here was to help improve my focus, particularly with regard to my work. That panned out quite nicely, in my opinion, and work was so much better for me.
However, work is only one part of my life. As such, it’s time to focus on getting the rest of my life to have more focus as well. For my lovely wife’s sanity, if nothing else.
One area that can help improve focus—and not just for those of us with ADHD but really anyone—is to improve sleep.
My sleep is atrocious and always has been. Some nights I can’t get to sleep at all. Other nights I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep. There’s little rhyme or reason to it.
And that’s where those “mind-altering substances” come into play. For this particular experiment, I’m going to take a look at two particular substances, both are basically just supplements: Magnesium glycinate and L-theanine.
